So I installed Mac OS X 10.1 yesterday and it's not a big deal, unfortunately. The speed uptake is not noticeable on my 2001 iBook (dual USB) with 384 MB of RAM at all, despite the happy-happy-joy-joy reports from everyone else on the planet. But kudos to Apple for offering it for free: I stood in line like a freaking dope for over an hour just to get in the store, but I had a good time chatting with folks, and the manager of the store individually shook everyone's hand and welcome them. And then handed them the free software. Good stuff.
