Yet more about why Linux isn't ready
Unlike the article mentioned two blurbs below, this one is actually good reading. But even good ol' Nick Petreley can't escape the problems inherent with Linux. Consider this sentence, in which he describes his PC: "...I had Mandrake 9.0 up and running on my 1-GHz Athlon, based on the Asus A7M266 motherboard. The machine has an NVidia GeForce 3, Intel Ethernet Express Pro 100, Sound Blaster Live!, ATA100 disk drives and 512 MB of DDR RAM." That's nice. Now consider how a Windows user would describe the same box: "I have a PC. Everything works."
