About this siteFor six years, the Internet Nexus served as my technology blog, but I've since started blogging at the SuperSite Blog instead. If you're looking for the blog, please head there. --Paul Thursday, July 11, 2002A Linux user goes back to WindowsAh yes. This type of thing probably happens all the time. It just doesn't get as much press as the few times the reverse happens. [ Posted at 8:45 PM | Permalink ]
Sunday, July 07, 2002Blogger vs. Radio UserlandI've tried both and I still prefer Blogger. In fact, I think I might just go and purchase Blogger Pro. Why not support good software? [ Posted at 11:20 AM | Permalink ] Sympathy for Microsoft? I love this kind of article because it could have been written at any time in the past five years and shows a basic cluelessness about Microsoft and its position in the market. Let me get this straight: Microsoft controls 95 percent of the market and is therefore on the way down? LOL. Good journalism occurs when you educate people about the truth, not when you try to spread an agenda (see today's Jackass comment below for another example). [ Posted at 11:15 AM | Permalink ] Making the switch Guys like David Coursey crack me up because they use a Mac for a month, write about it, and then go back to what they did before (Windows). I've been using a Mac for a year now, though I didn't replace my PCs with it. This guy, however, did replace his PCs, and while I don't agree with everything he writes (for example, Mozilla can't touch IE's speed, especially on OS X), this is a decent article about going Mac. And his comments about Linux are right on: I've been trying to use Linux regularly for over two years (after sporadically testing the OS since 1994) and it just isn't there yet. Anyone who says Linux is ready is a) lying, b) running only a limited set of niche applications (Web development, etc.) or, c) cheating by running Windows applications in emulation. [ Posted at 11:12 AM | Permalink ] Jackass This article is so easy to refute, it's almost not worth doing. But I do have a simple point to make about Gene Steinberg and others of his ilk (such as David Pogus and Scott Kelby): He is lying to you. He has an agenda. And you cannot trust anything he says about the PC. What I wouldn't give for a journalist that used a Mac and was honest about it. Oh wait, that's me. [ Posted at 11:05 AM | Permalink ]
