Macworld stuff
I've been traveling a lot lately, so it's time to catch up. Earlier this week, Apple held its annual MacWorld San Francisco trade show, and the company had big news. First, it introduced new aluminum PowerBook G4 laptops in 12" and 17" variants; the 12" is literally a G4 iBook and the 17" is the laptop equivalent of the Ford Excursion. On the software front, Apple unveiled its Safari Web browser, which is curiously based on KHTML (from KDE) and not Mozilla; a presentation application called Keynote, and Final Cut Express, a $300 version of Final Cut Pro. The company also previewed iPhoto 2, iMovie 3, and iDVD 3, which, together with the already released iTunes 3, will be sold as a package called iLife.
