New PowerBook G4 on the way!
I was flying to Las Vegas for CES when Steve Jobs gave his MacWorld keynote, but as soon as I arrived in town that night, I went online to check out the new machines and immediately purchased a new 12" PowerBook G4 to replace my aging G3 500 iBook. The unit I ordered includes an 867 MHz G4 processor, 640 MB of RAM, a 60 GB hard drive, and a slot-loading DVD-burning SuperDrive, all for about $2200 (Here are the specs in PDF). Good stuff, and exactly the machine I was looking for. It's going to take a few weeks to arrive, however.
