Apple to launch online music service
Reports are coming in fast and furious now that Apple will soon announce an online music service that will "allow consumers to download songs from the major record labels and copy them to its iPod portable digital music player through a new technology standard known as Advanced Audio Codec. Unlike the MP3 standard, which has become the early standard for online music, the technology would deliver higher quality sound but would prevent copying between computers."
