Apple inadvertantly leaks G5 specs
After all the years of secrecy, legally threatening fan-boy sites, and taking employees to court for leaking details about upcoming products, one must find it ironic that it was Apple itself that spilled the beans on the PowerMac G5 before anyone else did. According to a mistaken post on the Apple.com Web site, the PowerMac G5 will ship in 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 GHz dual-processor configurations (compared to a measly 1.0, 1.25, and 1.42 today), and feature up to a 1 GHz processor bus, up to 8 GB of DDR SDRAM, Fast Serial ATA hard drives, AGP 8x, three PCI or PCI-X slots, three USB 2.0 ports, one FireWire 800 and two FireWire 400 ports, optional Bluetooth and AirPort Extreme, and optical and analog audio in and out.
