Now ComputerWorld is also reporting that 2004 will be the year of Linux. I wonder if they just republish old articles for this and change the dates. "Over the next 12 to 18 months, Linux will strengthen its hold in the data center and make significant inroads on Microsoft Corp.'s desktop monopoly. This will be driven by the pending release of the 2.6 Linux kernel, whose Native Posix Thread Library (NPTL) will allow better support for database and application server workloads on x86 and 64-bit platforms."
