Apple changes store order status, delays PowerBook G4 12-inch
Naturally, I've been checking the Apple Store every couple of days to see how my new PowerBook G4 12-inch is coming along, but I noticed two changes the other day. First, the Apple Store's Order Status page is completely different now, with a textual, rather than graphic, view of each order's progress. Second, the G4 was originally shown as "being assembled," but now it has an estimated ship date of "On or before 02/06/2003," which is a good two weeks later than the original promise of "about two weeks," according to Jobs in his MacWorld keynote. "Two weeks" my butt: Typical Apple.

Mandrake files for bankruptcy protection
Another Linux desktop maker bites the dust. Is this a trend or just a bump in the road?

Going on a Safari...
OK, I've been using Apple's Safari browser since it came out and ... eh. It renders reasonably well, but some pages don't load and--honest to God--it doesn't support tabs. So I just can't deal with this thing until they get that right. And why the heck does Apple need its own Web browser anyway? The only news its going to make is the fact that 0.05 percent of Web users are using it. UPDATE: Oh, and it crashes when you try to post a Blogger post. LOL. Piece of crap.
