About this siteFor six years, the Internet Nexus served as my technology blog, but I've since started blogging at the SuperSite Blog instead. If you're looking for the blog, please head there. --Paul Tuesday, July 20, 2004Napster Signs Up U.S. CollegesNewsfactor: "Six U.S. universities have signed up to offer Napster's legal digital music downloading services to their students. The Los Angeles, California-based company has a strategy of contacting university administrators to offer low-priced subscriptions in a bid to lure students away from illegal peer-to-peer file-sharing networks such as Kazaa. Napster is a subsidiary of digital media firm Roxio. Cornell University, George Washington University, Middlebury College, University of Miami, University of Southern California and Wright State University all plan to create their own on-campus version of the Napster service. Pennsylvania State University and the University of Rochester have already started offering the service to their students. The new services are expected to debut this fall."
