About this siteFor six years, the Internet Nexus served as my technology blog, but I've since started blogging at the SuperSite Blog instead. If you're looking for the blog, please head there. --Paul Tuesday, July 11, 2006Switching from Windows to OS X caused five "Argh" momentsJust five, eh? :)Anyway, Robyn Peterson discusses his transition in PC Magazine: I live in a Windows world, at home and the office. And historically, Macs don't play nicely in a Windows world. But with the advent of the Core Duo T2500 (2.0 GHz) processor in the MacBook, it all changed. Macs could now run on Windows if absolutely necessary (via Apple's Boot Camp) . Note that I had no intention of installing Windows on a Mac—and I'm not just saying this to save face with my boss—but it was nice to know the option existed. And with that the last of my reservations fell away.BTW, we call the "Windows world," "the world." But anyway...Most of his "argh" moments aren't actually huge problems. Based on my experience, a typical computer user--i.e. someone not technically savvy--would have considerable issues moving from Windows to OS X. It's not impossible, but it's not completely easy either. [ Posted at 10:09 AM | Permalink ]
